AS A THERAPIST YOU CAN HARNESS THE GIFTS OF YOUR SENSITIVITY WHEN YOU LEARN HOW TO HONOUR AND NURTURE IT.
As a sensitive therapist, you may be noticing some of these challenges:
Becoming a Sensitively Strong Therapist
One of our gifts as sensitive therapists is our capacity and wiring for deep empathy however, as therapists with highly attuned nervous systems, if we have looser boundaries, we hit our limits quicker and can run out of steam easily. Whether you’re in training or are in the field a long time, it’s essential for you to understand your unique wiring so that you and your clients can experience and benefit from your sensitive gifts. If you don’t, unfortunately this will most likely be at the cost of you, and even your clients, which I know as a sensitive therapist goes against everything you value!
I’ve been learning, practising, and teaching in the field of mental health for over 16 years now and learning about the high sensitivity trait was a game changer both in how I understood myself and in how I practised as a psychotherapist. Now, both my clients and myself are reaping the benefits of my sensitive gifts. You can too!

Training & Experience
My undergraduate degree in Psychology is from University College Dublin after which I completed a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at University of Wales, Bangor. Following some years of working in the field of mental health, I trained in Counselling and Psychotherapy at IICP College. I am a fully accredited Psychotherapist (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and founded my own private practice 7 years ago.
I completed a Diploma in Therapy Training & Education and have also lectured for trainee and graduate psychotherapists and psychologists in Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University, and IICP College. I was also an Editor while on the Editorial Committee for the Irish Journal of Counselling & Psychotherapy for a number of years. My skill for creating and developing both individualised programmes and the courses within the Sensitively School are based upon my lecturing, facilitating, and editorial experiences, as well as over 15 years working in mental health in both community projects and organisations such as St. John of God.
